Terms of Use

Last updated: August 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Fireside (the "Service"), operated from India. By creating an account or otherwise using Fireside, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Fireside. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that creating an account doesn't violate any law applicable to you. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to hold an account, and we may remove any account we believe belongs to a minor.

2

Your Account

  • You sign in with Google or Apple — Fireside doesn't issue its own passwords.
  • You're responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One account per person. Impersonating someone else, or creating an account on someone else's behalf without their consent, isn't allowed.
  • The information on your profile should be genuinely yours and accurate — no fake names, ages, or photos.
3

What Fireside Is

Fireside seats small groups of people together for a time-limited, prompt-guided text conversation ("a campfire"). At the end, participants may privately indicate who they'd like to keep talking to; a mutual match ("a spark") opens a private message thread. Friends can choose to be seated together. Photos stay hidden until a mutual spark. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

4

Zero Tolerance for Abuse

Fireside has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior of any kind.

This includes, without limitation:

  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or discriminatory language directed at another user.
  • Sexually explicit content, unsolicited sexual advances, or soliciting sexual content from anyone.
  • Impersonation, fraud, scams, or soliciting money from other users.
  • Content that's illegal, promotes violence, or endangers minors.
  • Spam, advertising, or using Fireside to promote another product or service.
  • Sharing another user's private information without their consent.

We act on violations of this policy. That can include removing content, suspending matching, or permanently banning an account, depending on severity — see Section 5.

5

Reporting, Blocking & Enforcement

Every seat at a campfire and every spark thread has built-in safety tools:

  • Report anyone, at any time. Reports are private — the person you report is never told who filed it.
  • Block anyone. Once blocked, you'll never be seated together again.
  • Vote to remove someone from an active campfire — if 3 of the 4 people present agree, that person is removed from the conversation immediately.

We review reports and act on them, up to and including suspending or permanently banning an account. Repeated reports or a severe violation can result in immediate removal without warning. If you believe you've been actioned in error, contact us at the email below.

6

Content You Submit

You keep ownership of the messages and photos you submit to Fireside. By submitting them, you grant us a license to store, transmit, and display that content as needed to operate the Service (for example, showing your message to the other people at your campfire, or your photo to a mutual spark). You're responsible for making sure you have the right to share whatever you submit, and that it doesn't violate these Terms or anyone else's rights.

7

Account Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account — this is immediate and permanent. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if we're required to by law. Where reasonably possible, we'll tell you why.

8

No Warranty; Limitation of Liability

Fireside is provided "as is." We don't vet users before they join, and we can't guarantee the conduct of anyone you interact with through the Service — use the same judgment and caution you would meeting anyone new. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fireside isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or from the conduct of any user.

9

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available within the app and on our website. Continuing to use Fireside after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
